Ammon Freestone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney on Apr. 23, 2026.
Ammon Seth Freestone, 40, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away at his home on Friday, April 17, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the LDS Church in Kearney, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, also at the LDS Church.

Ammon was born on March 13, 1986, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ammon had a natural charisma and quick wit that drew people to him instantly. He loved to laugh-and even more, he loved making others laugh. Time spent with him was never ordinary; it was louder, brighter, and filled with joy.

He approached life with a competitive spirit that showed up in everything he did. Whether it was video games or one of his famously organized family tennis tournaments, he played to win-but more importantly, he played to bring people together. Those moments became cherished traditions, filled with laughter, friendly rivalry, and memories that will last a lifetime.

As the youngest sibling and the last to marry, Ammon shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews. He adored them not only as family, but as friends-and they adored him in return. He showed up with energy, humor, and a genuine interest in their lives. To them, he wasn't just an uncle; he was a constant source of fun, encouragement, and love.

Above all else, Ammon's heart belonged to his family. He deeply loved his wife, Rachel, and was a proud and playful father to his daughters, Zoey and Lily, who were his greatest joy.

Ammon leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and connection-the kind of presence that cannot be replaced, and the kind of person whose absence is felt in every room. Though the world feels quieter without him, the echoes of his laughter and the love he gave so freely will remain with those who knew him always.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Jameson Freestone; his daughters, Zoey Beth Freestone and Lily Paige Freestone; his parents, Eric and Faith Freestone; his siblings; as well as 13 nieces and 16 nephews.

He was preceded in death by no immediate family members.
