Amor Ben Taieb Hantous, age 64, of Minneapolis, MN passed away unexpectedly on 10/21/24.
Born on 4/25/1960 in Tunis, Tunisia Amor was raised in a close knit family where he developed
his strong family values and caring nature.
Survived by spouse Barbara Hoffman and their three children Sammi, Yassine, and Sarah
Hantous. He also leaves behind a large extended family in Minneapolis, Tunisia, and Montreal
including his five sisters and their spouses, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Preceded in death by parents Taieb and Mongia Hantous.
Amor came to the US at age 18 and found his way into the restaurant industry. Starting in New
York City and then moving to Minneapolis a few years later; ultimately opening Rinata, an Italian
restaurant in Minneapolis.
Amor was generous, thoughtful, compassionate, and dedicated to his family and friends. His
greatest love, though, were his cherished children. He shared with them a great pride in their
Tunisian heritage and how important family is. Amor was also passionate about sports,
specifically soccer, cooking, the principles of running a business, and strong personal integrity.
He will be dearly missed and his legacy will continue on through his children.
Amor will be laid to rest in Tunis, Tunisia with his Father on 10/31/24. An open house
Celebration of Life will be held on 11/10/24 from 2pm-5pm at Rinata Restaurant 2451 Hennepin
Ave. S. Minneapolis, MN
