Amy Lynne Brown, born on March 17th, 1971, gained her wings on December 11th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
Amy will most be remembered by her larger than life personality. She always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. Amy graduated from East Carolina University and held her love for the Pirates close to her heart. Amy was a special education teacher for 30 years, with most of these years spent taking care of "her babies" at her beloved Fairview Heights Elementary School. Anyone who knew Amy knows that she was extremely giving of her time and herself, most often putting the needs of others before her own. Amy was the life of the party and lit up any room she entered. She loved her family, her extensive group of friends, spending time by the pool, music, especially Jimmy Buffett, her dog, Piper, and any child that she could get her arms around.
Amy is survived by her parents, Frances Stone Ferreira and Don C. Brown, her brother, Colton Brown, stepbrothers, Mike Ferreira (Patricia) and Scott Ferreira (Audrey), and her stepsister, Laurie McGee (Max). She is also survived by her aunt, Joyce Stone, her uncle, Richard Stone (Diane), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Amy is preceded in death by her stepfather, Jack Ferreira, grandparents, Leon and Louise Stone of Hamlet, and Harry and Nell Brown of Rockingham.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, at Fellowship United Methodist Church, 1200 McDonald Ave.,
Hamlet, NC, beginning at 2:00 pm. Visitation will precede the service from 12:30 until 2:00 at the church.
Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to Fellowship United Methodist Church, the Richmond County Animal Shelter, 529 W US Hwy 74,
Rockingham, NC, 28379, or Sandhills Children Center, 1280 Central Dr.,
