Obituary
Amy C. (nee Kollmar) Donaghy of Media, PA passed away April 16th at age 48 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Garvin Donaghy and cherished children Ronan, Brady, Seamus and Faye. Also survived by her mother Susan Kollmar, sister Karen Coyne (Patrick), brother Kyle Kollmar and special aunt Betty Kollmar. She was predeceased by her father Harry Kollmar and aunt Peggy Kollmar.
Amy loved and enjoyed spending time and visiting her in laws in Ireland and hosting them at her home. Her times with Kevin and Marian Donaghy, Neil and Cherie Cassidy, and Shane and Ciara Donaghy will be forever cherished.
Amy was known for her energetic spirit and mischievous wit which served her well in her youth making scores of lifelong friends while working at Casey's and Maggie O'Neill's. She parlayed that experience into a career in point of sale software at Micros.
After meeting Garvin at Maggie's, Amy found her true calling as a mother to her four children. She dedicated her life to their upbringing, education and activities. She was always active within the community as a homeroom mom, little league snack shack coordinator and many other volunteer activities that made the surrounding community a better place. She also loved her time as an aunt to Colin, Paige, Quinn, Corey, Caitlyn Rose, Darragh, Emily, Kate and Tommy. She also was known to accept and care for countless pets of all varieties throughout her life.
Her tireless two-year battle with illness defied medical odds due to her determination to spend every last moment she could being a mom to her children.
The Donaghy family would like to thank their friends, family and community for their outstanding support and love shown over Amy's ongoing battle. It will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friend are invited to her Visitation Friday, April 21, 2023 6pm O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd. Springfield, PA 19064 and Saturday April 22, 2023 9:30am St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063. Funeral Mass Saturday 11am in the Church. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
