Grace Wasch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Inc. & Private Crematory - Norwood on Mar. 20, 2026.
Grace Loretta Wasch passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at the age of 90, in Lester, PA. Born on September 2, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Grace was the cherished daughter of the late Donald Gregory McKay and Eleanor (Kuck) McKay, and later, the step-daughter of the late Marie (Regan) McKay. Her life was a testament to the values of kindness, compassion, and devout faith that she held dear.

Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband, William R. (Bill) Wasch, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering partnership. Her legacy continues through her devoted children, William R. "Bill" Wasch, Jr. (Kiki), Jeffrey J. "Jeff" Wasch, Nancy L. Wasch (John Stirling), and Kathleen A. "Kate" Wasch; her adored grandchildren, Panos "Pete" Koustsikos, Jeffrey Wasch (Jill), Stephanie Wasch, Michael Wasch, Daniel "Danny" Stirling, Matthew Stirling (Irene) and Rachel Stirling (L); sister Jeannette Sedar (Bill); her sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" McKay; and a host of much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins of various degrees, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Francis McKay and sister, Elaine Pagano Baron.

Grace's career was as diverse as it was fulfilling, encompassing roles in secretarial, administrative, and human resources positions. Her work ethic and dedication to any task at hand were unparalleled. However, it was her involvement with the Catholic Church that truly defined her purpose. Grace's "retirement" years were far from idle as she continued to work and volunteer with St. Margaret Mary's RC Church in Essington and St. Gabriel's Church in Norwood. As a devoted member of the Legion of Mary, Grace found joy in studying and discussing spiritual doctrine, planning Church events, and forming deep bonds with her fellow members.

Her love for singing and dancing was only matched by her enjoyment in socializing with family and friends. Grace brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. Yet, it was her inclination towards helping others that brought her the greatest joy. Grace lived a purpose-driven life, always seeking ways to contribute to her community and uplift those around her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Grace's visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Church of St. Gabriel, 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
