It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Amy Ann Reese, 59, of Wake Forest, on Thursday August 21st, 2025. Amy was born on October 17th, 1965, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a long-time resident of the North Wales area and a 1983 graduate of North Penn High School. She attended Spring Garden College, Miami University of Ohio, and Villanova University before eventually moving to South Carolina and pursuing a professional career. She retired to North Carolina in 2015 after many years as an Executive assistant and Paralegal specializing in intellectual property, governmental compliance, and acquisitions and mergers. After retirement, she occasionally dusted off her skills by doing freelance work to keep busy.
She had a definite passion for reading and enjoyed relaxing with a book at the beach, at home, or anywhere in between. She also enjoyed more active pursuits such as surfing and volleyball, as well as charity work with various civic and women's groups. She had shoes for any occasion and was never afraid to add more to her collection at any time. She was equally at home in heels as she was mud boots- with colors of each to match any outfit. She lived for her two rescued pups, the most recent dogs in a long line of canine companions.
She is survived by her parents; George and Nancy Reese of Rocky Mount; sister, Colleen Miller and husband, Michael of Pensacola, Florida; brother, Jonathan Reese and wife, Christena, of Wilson as well as nieces and nephews, Austin, Carson, Samantha, Matthew and Noa Grace.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gregory W Reese who was her best buddy, confidante, and sounding board. She was also predeceased by her "manly" husband, Peter M Karnuth of Florence, South Carolina who was surely eagerly awaiting his “cutie pie” and will be overjoyed to see her wiggle and giggle her way through the pearly gates to rejoin him.
Memorial services will be held on a date to be determined and will be private for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations in her memory to the animal shelter or canine rescue of your choice
