Amy Khampheng Saysiri, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on November 21st, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on June 6th, 1942 in Ban Maknow, Vientiane, Laos, the daughter of Chan Na and Seun Sayakoummane.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two older brothers, Doke and Phengdy Sayakoummane, and her little sister, Bouavang, who died in early childhood.
In 1963, at the age of 21, Khampheng married Inhta Saysiri and together they raised seven children.The Saysiri family immigrated to the USA in December p1980 as refugees of war. Khampheng was a homemaker before joining the workforce at lowa Beef Products for almost a decade. In 1992, the family relocated t o Hawaii to start a family farming business. Khampheng managed the family business until her retirement. She was known as the matriarch of the Sayakoummane-Saysiri family.
Those who know her best know how devoted she was, not only to her children, but to all of the Ban Maknow relatives who looked to her for guidance, support, and unconditional love. She will be remembered most for her zest for life, her sense of humor, her wit, her honesty, her courage, and of course her smile.
Khampheng is survived by her husband Inhta (whom she had known since they were kids), her sons Inpeng, Inpong, and Jimmy Saysiri. Her daughters Khampane and husband Viengxay Xayarath, Ratsamy Saysiri, Souksy and husband Mit Tonsaly, Khamby and husband Soutsakhone Xeunvilay. Khampheng adored her grandchildren Phoxay Vongprachan, Valerie Xayarath, Madelynn and husband Austin Vandagriff, Katelynn Saysiri, Allison and Charlotte Saysiri Xeunvilay, and Sophie Saysiri. Her love will remain with u s for all the days of our lives.
