Ana D. Rivera

Ana D. Rivera, 78, of Amsterdam, NY passed away December 13, 2025. She was born April 17, 1947 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico to the late Dionicio and Crucita (Mercado) Rivera.

Ana was the respected matriarch of her family - she helped everyone, whatever they needed she made sure they had it. She loved her family deeply, and enjoyed family gatherings, laughing and dancing. Her sense of humor will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Ana was a homebody at heart, and she loved to cook. She also loved anything to do with elephants, and had many that she collected over the years. She was an excellent daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend to all who were blessed to know her.

Ana is survived by her children Jorge L. Cabrera (Alicia), Angel L. Cabrera, and Jannette Sierra; siblings Jose A. Rivera, Mariano Rivera, Ana Allemant, and Maria V. Rivera; as well several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her significant other, Efrain Sierra on August 29, 2009, and two brothers Pedro Rivera and Victor M. Rivera.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam, NY. A service will take place at 4 PM with the Father Juanito Asprec officiating.
