"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." - Richard Puz
Ana Leticia Rivera, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Ana was born on September 18, 1957, in El Salvador to Carlos Valdez and Olympia Valdez. She was one of eight siblings in a large family that shaped her deep sense of loyalty, faith, and resilience.
She was raised in Guatemala City - Zone 7, Colonia Betania; a place she carried in her heart throughout her life. From an early age, Ana embodied both determination and compassion. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Guatemala and worked as a teacher in Guatemala, dedicating herself to nurturing and guiding children. A calling that beautifully reflected her generous spirit.
At just 19 years old, Ana immigrated to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. With courage and unwavering faith, she built a new life rooted in hard work and sacrifice. She married Pedro Juan Rivera and made her home in
New Rochelle, New York, where together they raised their family.
Ana was the proud mother of two children who were the center of her world. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities she never had, often placing her own needs aside so her children could thrive. She was a fighter in every sense of the word. She was resilient, resourceful, and steadfast in her love.
Never one to stop growing, Ana earned her cosmetology license and opened her own hair salon business. She later trained and worked as a home health care attendant, continuing her lifelong mission of caring for others.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Ana was an active and devoted member of her church, teaching Children's Church and volunteering in numerous capacities. Whether someone needed financial help, a ride, a warm meal, or a place to stay, Ana always found a way to help. Her home and her heart were always open. Even when her generosity was taken advantage of, she chose forgiveness over resentment.
Ana is survived by her son, Erik Rivera, and his wife, Katie Rivera, and her cherished grandsons, Julian and Maddox; her daughter, Darla Lee Aguirre, and her husband, Wilson Aguirre; as well as the countless lives she touched through her kindness and compassion.
Ana's legacy is one of faith, sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
