Anadelia "Ana" Mathis, passed away on January 22, 2025 in Austin, Texas. She was born on August 13, 1959 to her father Martin Lopez Jr. and her mother Dora Elia Medina in San Angelo, Texas.
Ana was raised mostly in the panhandle of Nebraska, but also spent time in Texas, Wyoming, Colorado and Michigan, she graduated from Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She served honorably in the United States Army as a tank specialist. Ana married Jeffie Lee Mathis of Fresno, California. Afterwards, they moved their family to Texas and settled near the town of Poteet.
Ana was a private home healthcare provider in Poteet and surrounding communities. She enjoyed eating out at her favorite hang-out spots in Poteet and Rossville, reading books, and playing sudoku. She had a natural fondness for animals, especially dogs. She loved spending time and holidays with her family and friends. Her generous and loving spirit will be greatly missed and cherished by those who knew and loved her dearly.
She leaves behind her children, Victor (Alicia) Lopez, Jason Slaughter, Stephanie Boston, Camelia (Frank) Escalate, and Justin Sharbino; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her mother, Dora Zimmerman; her siblings, Abigail Lopez, Vera (Chon) Meraz, Adelaida (Lonnie) Wellman, Petra (James) Anderson, and Roberto (Tammy) Lopez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Mathis; her father, Martin Lopez Jr.; her infant grandson, Emmett Lopez; and her infant brother, Victor J. Lopez.
Although Ana's eternal future rest in GOD's loving plans, her beautiful memory will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.A formal funeral will not be held per Ana's request.
