Anderson "Buddy" Locklear

Anderson "Buddy" Locklear was born on January 21, 1951, in Pembroke, NC, to the late Alex and Essie Locklear. He attended Robeson County Public Schools. In May 1971, Anderson married Willie Neil. Over the next several years, they welcomed four daughters: Angie Johnson (James), Amy Hicks (Doc), Kayanna Locklear, all of Fayetteville, NC, and Pamela Hunt (Willie) of Proctorville, NC. The family later relocated to Fayetteville, NC. Buddy worked at Hope Mills Fire Department and Johnson & Johnson Plumbing Company. Buddy deeply loved the Lord and his church and often invited others to attend. He transitioned from this earthly life on October 21, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Anderson " Buddy" Locklear was preceded in death by his daughter: Sue Ann Locklear, two sisters; Rita Cummings, Ann Cummings, and his late grandson; Andrew Locklear. He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters: Angie Johnson (James), Amy Hicks (Doc), Kayanna Locklear, all of Fayetteville, NC, and Pamela Hunt (Willie) of Proctorville, NC. Son, James Lowery of Rennert, NC. Four granddaughters: Angelica Locklear of Jacksonville, FL; Veronica Sharper and Jada Smith of Fayetteville, NC; and Nevaeh Hammond of Proctorville, NC; four grandsons: Isiah Locklear, James Johnson (both of Fayetteville, NC), Anthony Hunt, and Willie Covington Jr. of Proctorville, NC. He is also survived by two brothers, Leon Locklear (Iris) of Hope Mills, NC, and Larry Locklear of Rennert, NC; two sisters, Susan Lowery (James) and Doris Whitehead; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
