Andra Jean Wurzer

Andra Jean Wurzer, 82, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, February 23, 2026.

She grew up in Morristown, New Jersey and met the love of her life as a young teen. Andra and Carl married on June 19, 1965. They were married for 62 years, together for 69 years. After 25 years working side-by-side in the publishing industry and raising their two children outside Washington, D.C., Carl and Andra embarked on their first retirement as gentleman farmers in Huddleston, Virginia. They raised livestock for sale at the local stockyard, packaged and sold organic eggs, raised sheep for wool, and enjoyed the produce from their large garden. In their second retirement, they moved to a small community in Forest, Virginia, eventually choosing Sunnyside for their "real" retirement years. The family is grateful to the staff for the skilled nursing care Andra received in the last months of her life.

Andra is survived by her loving husband, Carl; son, Carl Andrew and his wife, Heather; daughter, Leslie Anne and her husband, Arnon and three grandchildren, Brad, Heidi and Harrison.

Interment in their memorial bench, at Virginia Memorial Park, in Forest will take place in the Spring.
