Our Beloved 'Bassman'
Andr Vernon Bledsoe, beloved husband, departed this life on March 18, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his family and close friends.
Born in
Springfield, Massachusetts, Andr was the son of the late Daniel Bledsoe Jr. and Maurita (Hinson) Bledsoe. A graduate of Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical High School, he pursued his career with several employers, including Digital Equipment Corporation. He retired from Ahlstrom Nonwovens, LLC after 22 years of service.
Known as a gifted, self-taught musician, Andrs real passion was music. He began playing music in high school and was the bass guitarist with several bands, including his own band, Epiphany, playing genres from Rock to R&B, Blues and Contemporary Jazz.
Football was Andrs favorite sport. You always knew where to find this 30-year fan of the Dallas Cowboys whenever they were playing. He loved traveling with his loving, devoted wife his Kimmie - to beautiful tropical destinations and soaking in the uniquely local greatness of the area. Andr had a very special relationship with the ocean. He swam like a fish, and loved simply being in the water, especially warm water and diving underwater in the sea.
Andr was a hardworking, kind and gentle giant who will be remembered for his love of all things Bass and how passionately he played music, his smile, big warm hugs, love of good food and beautiful personality. He is survived by his wife and partner of 25 years, Kim (White) Bledsoe; daughters Adriana Bledsoe, Natia Bledsoe and Meleah White, big brother Darryl Bledsoe (Florence); and sister Hollee Patterson (Lee). He was pre-deceased by a sister, Gina Smith. Grandchildren left to cherish memories of their Poppy are Kennedy Raynor, Miles Raynor, Kaelani Henderson, Kaelynn Henderson, Quincy Watts, Joshua Brea and Jason Brea. Andr was also beloved by a large extended family of relatives and close friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
