Andre Arvester Kimmins was born the oldest of ten children to Joseph and Wilma Arrington on August 3, 1963 in Rock Island, Illinois. After graduating from Rock Island High School, Andre enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably, even earning a badge as a sharpshooter. Once out of the service, Andre attended Marshalltown Community College to pursue a degree in computer science.
Andre was funny and outgoing, brutally honest, and a natural born charmer. A “mack daddy,” he was surrounded by love, and blessed with five children: Christine Board, Patricia Snyder, Adonis Kimmins, Mia Kimmins, and Alex Kimmins. Andre had many interests throughout his life; he loved music, Chicago Bears football, riding around in the car, sitting out on the porch, and hosting cookouts. Most of all though, Andre was a family man and he loved to spend time with his children and family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Christine Board, OK; Patricia Snyder of Clinton, IA; Adonis Kimmins of Ground Mound, IA; Mia Kimmins of Marshalltown, IA; and Alex Kimmins of Waterloo, IA; his siblings: Krine Arrington; Vernice Johnson; Simone Woods; Eric Wires; Joseph Arrington III; Loren Arrington; and Matthew Arrington; and former companion Millie Durrant. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his pet dogs Arrow and Ike. Many women and friends.
Andre is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Wilma Arrington, grandparents Lillian and Joe Kimmins, and two of his brothers James Arrington and David Wires.
