André Juanetwez Stephenson was born on February 1, 1979, to Andrea Stephenson and Nugene Walker in Flint, MI.
The middle child of five, André attended school in both Flint and Kalamazoo. André was a born entertainer, performing during his younger years in multiple groups that he would form with his brothers and his friends. Notable favorites that André enjoyed performing were "If I Ever Fall in Love" by Shai, "End of the Road," and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," both by Boys II Men.
A favorite pastime when getting together with family was to find a microphone, cue up some music, and put on a show, whether it be with an old favorite of the family or an old blues song that André had no business even knowing.
André loved to debate life's little mysteries and was very insightful when it came to finding ways to better himself and those around him. He created the Apostle Podcast and wrote many manuscripts on his life and how he was soldiering his way through it. He was fun-loving, easy to talk to, and had a soft spot concerning his mother and family.
André was a devoted father to his five children, did everything he could to ensure that they were taken care of, and he always tried to make sure they saw a life lesson in any hardship. He worked hard and loved even harder.
André's soul left this earthly plane on July 22, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Andrea Williams; sons: André J Stephenson, Jr., Adrian Stephenson, Amore Stephenson, and King Motton; daughter, Adrianna Mathews; brothers: Dion Stephenson, Edrease Stephenson, and Damieris Tedford; sister Deeadra (Jason) Piper; his grandmother, Laura Hobbidy; aunt, Vickie Wooden; and his first cousin, Cer Bolton. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and distant cousins.
André was preceded in death by his father, Nugene Walker, his grandfather, Andrew Stephenson; Great Uncles: Jack, Gerald, and Fred McLaurin; great-aunts: Annabelle, Helen, Rose, and Maxine McLaurin; his uncle, Darrell Duane Stephenson, and his favorite cousin, Michael Hopson, Jr.
