Andrea Thompson Rajkumar

Andrea "Ann" Thompson-Rajkumar was born on Saturday, September 21, 1946 to the union of the late Rosalie and Isaac Thompson, Sr. Ann was a lifelong resident of Marrero, Louisiana.
In 1992, Ann was untied into holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Winston A. Rajkumar.
Ann was baptized at the New Zion Baptist Church by the late Rev. Joseph Howard, Sr. at an early age. She faithfully served on the Usher Board and the Choir until her health began to fail. Ann also worked as the church's custodian for many years. Come rain or sunshine, she was always there to open and lock the church up after services and other events. She lived by the motto, "if I can help somebody, as I pass along; if I can cheer them with a word or song; if I can show somebody he is travelling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain.
Ann attended Lincoln High School and the Holman Vocational Center of New Orleans. She never allowed her disability to hinder her success. There was not a food that Ann could not master and she will forever be remembered for her famous black garbage bag popcorn balls, her Cajun dirty rice, scrumptious potato salads and down home sweet potato pies! Ann was the type of person who would give you her last. If you wanted to ever know the blatantly honest truth about something, you could always ask Ann and she was going to tell you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not.
Ann leaves to cherish her memories one son who was the apple of her eyes, her "Bookah", Patrick (Sharon) Thompson; four grandchildren, Breyonne, Brittany, Brooklyn and Braden Thompson; three brothers, Isaac (Brenda), Michael (Ruthie), and Charles (Earnestine) Thompson; one sister, Betty (Robert) Nolden, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Ann is proceeded in death by her husband, Winston A. Rajkumar; her parents, Rosalie and Isaac Thompson, Sr.; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
On the early morning of Sunday, August 27, 2023, God dispatched an angel to West Jefferson Medical Center with instructions to release His child. Ann hastily, yet humbly heeded the Master's call, as she stepped aboard the Chariot of Eternal Life!
