Andreia Avelar

Andreia (Trindade) Avelar, age 101 of Taunton, passed away on July 5, 2025 at Regal Care of Taunton.

She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Avelar.

Born in Flores, Azores the daughter of the late Andre and Isabelle (Mendonca) Trindade.

Before retiring, Mrs. Avelar was employed with Texas Instruments.

She enjoyed knitting, sewing and making her own dresses, cooking, and baking sweet bread. Most of all she was a loving and caring person who loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Avelar is survived by her loving children, Joseph Avelar and his wife Ana and Maria Teixeira and her husband Jose, grandmother of Melissa Bouchard, Joshua Avelar, Jessica Avelar and Armanda Pereira, great-grandmother of Jordan Pereira, Abel Avelar, Ami Avelar, Haillie Avelar, Lia Avelar and Ari Avelar. She was also the sister of the late Rogue Trindade, Americo Sousa Trindade, and the late Maria Mendonca Avelar.

Mrs. Avelar’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 10 th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North Side of the funeral home.
