Andrew "Andy" Strandell, age 43, of Sandwich, Illinois, passed away at his home on August 1, 2025. Born on September 19, 1981, in Aurora, Illinois, Andy was the beloved son of the late Paul "Kenny" Mullins and Cheryl Strandell. He was a talented tattoo artist, celebrated for his artistic skills and dedication to his craft over a career spanning more than 20 years. Tattooing was not just a profession for Andy; it was his passion, showcasing his creativity and commitment to his work.
Andy was a person of genuine kindness, known for his caring nature, patience, and vibrant personality. He impacted the lives of many, fostering connections that were deeply meaningful. His most important loves were his two daughters, Kenzie and Klhoe, with whom he cherished every moment. Andy poured his heart into being a father, ensuring that his daughters felt his love and support in every aspect of their lives.
He shared a strong bond with his family, which included his mother, Cheryl Strandell; grandfather, Paul Mullins Sr; grandmother, Rebecca Johnson; two brothers, Ryan (Kayla) Mullins and Derek (Ashley) Fitzpatrick; beloved nieces and nephews, Zach, Aden, Kendra Mullins, and Ava Fitzpatrick. Andy was also close to his best friend, Josh (Sasha) Cole, and remained connected with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A special dog friend, Chino, was also a cherished companion in Andy's life.
Andy had a variety of interests, with one particular joy being the sharing of his knife collection with his nephews, showcasing his nurturing side and the love he had for the younger generations in his family.
In addition to his surviving family, Andy is reunited in spirit with his maternal grandmother, Earlene Strandell; his father, Paul "Kenny" Mullins; and his paternal grandfather, Leroy M. Strandell. Andy will be loved dearly and will never be forgotten, living on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:30 PM with Pastor Jeremiah Feicht officiating at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, Illinois. Burial to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to The Strandell Family.
