Andrew Basile, beloved husband to the late Maria Basile and devoted father to Vito, Phyllis, and John Basile, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. Andrew was a pillar of strength and love for his family, always putting their needs before his own. He will be deeply missed.
Andrew Basile’s journey began in Carini, Sicily on October 21st, 1932. His journey continued to Brooklyn, NY in 1952 where he married and built a family with the love of his life, Maria.
Andrew & his family moved to Concord, NC in June of 1977 where he opened the first Italian restaurant in the Carolina Mall naming it The Villa Maria, after his wife. He loved and adored his family and never put anything before it. He was an entrepreneur, had a passion for providing for his family, and maintaining his multiple businesses. He built and sustained a beautiful legacy of strength and love to be inherited by his loved ones. Andrew was kind and welcoming to every person he encountered and never met a stranger.
He will be remembered for his loving heart, legendary work ethic, beautiful smile, and joyful spirit. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
The family will receive friends and loved ones Friday, May 9, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, in Concord.
Preceded in death is his wife Maria Basile, Father Vito Basile, and Mother Filippa Basile.
Left to Cherish his memory are his children, Vito, Phyllis, and John (wife Mona) Basile, seven grandchildren Amelia (Husband Colbey), Kristin, Andrew (Wife Melissa), Gabriella, Marco, Christian, Olivia; and three great-grandchildren, Keylee, Kash, and Gianna.
