Andrew Paul Daniel was born June 13, 1977, in Port Arthur, Texas. He departed for Heaven on November 6, 2022, at the young age of 45 due to a heinous act of murder in Burlington, North Carolina. There is an open case and an investigation continues, but a suspect has been arrested and charged with the crime and should remain in jail until his trial.
Andy attended public schools in both Nederland, Texas and Plano, Texas. Andy then worked a variety of jobs including the food and beverage industry as well as the construction industry. After spending several years working for Nevil Masonry, Andy opened AK Masonry.
He loved the outdoors since he was able to walk, and his hobbies and passions reflected that love. Andy enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, water skiing, swimming and anything else pertaining to water including lakes, rivers and the oceans! He was a certified diver by the time he was 12 years old. He loved camping, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking the mountains of Colorado and Utah.
He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. Three of his favorite dogs whom he never quit loving were Rush, Molly and Dixie.
As a child, his mother was afraid neighbors thought he wasn't allowed to eat lunch in the house, because the only way to get him to stop playing and eat was to give him his lunch outside! He was such a clean freak that he would dash inside several times a day to change into clean clothes so there was always plenty of laundry to do!
His sense of humor and wit will be missed by all. He even provided material for a friend that was a professional stand-up comic. He kept people around him laughing and smiling constantly. He spent his adult life in Texas, Florida, Utah and North Carolina, so he had friends all over the country.
Every person that knew Andy spoke of his good heart. The phrase we've heard most often is that Andy had a heart of gold. Nothing made him happier than serving others and helping those less fortunate. One of his favorite things to do was cook for all his neighbors. He loved sharing scarce supplies he could get his hands on during Covid. He spent a short time in the Dominican Republic volunteering with Ninos de la Luz, an organization that helps street children in Venezuela, S. Sudan and the Dominican Republic.
Andy was predeceased by his grandparents Gerald and Geraldine Daniel and their son Gary Daniel of Nederland, Texas as wells as his maternal grandfather, Bobby Roberts from Port Arthur and Tyler, Texas. Andy is survived by his grandmother, Evelyn Roberts, parents, Rebecca and Graeme Burnett, his sisters, Christa Daniel of Austin, Texas and Jane English Whitmore of Plano, Texas. As well as 7 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and his ex-wife, Krista Selby of Plano, TX.
Most importantly, Andy was a Christian who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He attended Lamb's Chapel in Burlington, NC until the time of his death. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a great organization, Samaritan's Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org, that Andy felt strongly about.
