Andrew "Andy" Dijkstra

Andrew Dijkstra, age 79, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Andy enjoyed meeting with his men's bible study group, reading God's word, and being a member of Madison Square Christian Reformed Church. He retired from Bethany Christian Services after many years of social work and counselling. Andy will be lovingly remembered by his children, Shawn Dijkstra, Susan (John) Hawes, Elizabeth (Doug) Bentz; sister, Mina (Owen) Wesselius; his nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and daughter, Jessica Dykstra. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, February 22, from 2 to 4 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. A funeral service for Andy will be held 12:00 noon Monday, February 23, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, with Rev. Andrea Bult, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Andy may be made to Madison Square CRC.
