Andrew Frey Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - Marysville on Dec. 13, 2025.
Andrew C. Frey, 96, longtime resident of Union County, passed away peacefully, early Thursday morning, December 11, 2025, at his home on the family farm.
One of four children, Andy was born July 31, 1929, in Westerville to Emanuel and Georgia (Asher) Frey. A 1947 graduate of Westerville High School, he spent his entire working career as a farmer, beginning on his family's farm in Westerville. Around this time, Andy met and fell in love with the former Evelyn G. Held, and they married June 1, 1952. After starting their own family together, Andy and Evelyn branched out to the Marysville area in 1958, where Andy farmed their own land for over 60 years. Farming was in his blood, and his abilities ranged from the early years of milking cows, to the later years where the land yielded corn, hay, wheat, and soybeans. He also loved being in the woods, splitting wood and clearing the woods with his brother and grandchildren.
A man of strong faith, he loved his Lord, and he turned to watching sermons from the LaRue Baptist Church online when his health began to make traveling difficult. Soft spoken and humble, Andy was the center of his family, and he was most grateful for their love and their support in his life throughout the years. His gentle demeanor and easy smile were trademarks that anyone in his life knew well, and his love for farming was only eclipsed by the love he felt for his family. They will miss him greatly.
Andy is survived by his children, Charlie T. (Susan) Frey of Marysville and Susan F. (Jim) Rigano of Springboro; daughter-in-law Joyce A. Frey of Marysville; grandchildren Janice (Steve) Alston, Jennifer Frey, Justin (Chelsea Ricker) Frey, Timothy (Ali) Frey, Caleb (Laura) Frey, Hannah (fiancé Rodrigo Garibay) Frey, Micah Frey, Chris (Anna) Rigano and Kevin (Jennifer) Rigano; great grandchildren Kaelyn, Dylan, Evelyn, Mariel, Naomi, Jehu, Andrew, Samantha, Lance, Jonah and Brynn; sister-in-law Barbara Yarnell; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Along with his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn, on January 29, 2008, after 55 years of marriage; son John M. Frey and daughter Brenda A. Frey; as well as siblings Mary Jane (Chester) Patten, Caroline (Chris) Braun, and John E. Frey.
Funeral services to celebrate Andy's life will be held 12pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, with Pastor Tim Pasma officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery next to his wife Evelyn, and daughter, Brenda. Friends may call one hour prior to service time, beginning at 11 am.
