Andrew Jackson Sadler, 89, of Hobucken passed away on July 22, 2025, at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House surrounded by family.
Known to all as “Capt. Jack” he lived his life on Hobucken and spent more days on the water than he walked on land. He worked as a commercial fisherman all his life. The water was his home, but his heart belonged to his late wife, Lucille. Together they built a life they loved surrounded by family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lucille Sadler; his parents, Ervin Lester Sadler and Rena Lupton Sadler; his brothers, Walter Lindsay Sadler and Lester Bryon Sadler; and his son, Ervin Lester Sadler II.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Andrew Sadler, Jr. (Jennifer) of Grantsboro; his daughter-in-law, Kim Sadler of Alliance; sister-in-law, Bonnie Sadler; his four grandchildren, Jessica Sadler, Hope Messer (John), Andrew Sadler III (Courtney), and Ervin Sadler III (Madison); five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Scarlett, Willow, Elliott, and Anniston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 27th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blaney Rowe officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House, PO Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
