It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Russell Jarrett, 90, on August 8, 2025, in Plainview, TX. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel in Plainview, TX. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:oo PM at First Baptist Church in Lockney, TX. The family is honoring Andrew's wishes to be buried at the West Texas State Cemetery in Lubbock, where Andrew will be the first burial at the new cemetery. The burial is scheduled for the week of December 15th this year. Funeral Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview, Texas.

Andrew was born on January 13, 1935, in Pickton, TX, to Zora Frank "Joe" and Janie Isabell (Chadwick) Jarrett.

Andrew was a talented musician who captivated audiences with his guitar and voice throughout Texas, Colorado, Japan and at several churches. A proud Marine, he cherished his country and served in the 8th Marine Core District, earning the National Defense Metal, UN Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal. An avid fan of wrestling programs and cowboy movies (Westerns), Andrew worked as a certified welder and engaged in highway construction. He also found joy in gardening. Above all, he had a deep love for his sister Dimple and maintained strong ties to FBC Lockney, where he was a member. Additionally, he was a member of Abundant Life Church in Mead, Colorado, during his time there.

Andrew is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Jarrett; his parents, Zora Frank "Joe" and Isabell Jarrett; his daughter, Gaylene Opp; his son, Rick Jarrett; his sisters, Ruth Miller, husband Truman; and his brother, Raymond Aron Jarrett.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Terry Jarrett and wife Maricela of Platteville, CO, Randy Jarrett and wife Georgette of Helena, MT, Roger Jarrett with wife Candy of Billings, MT; and his son-in-law, Dan Opp, his sister, Dimple (Gordon) Adams of Lockney; 15 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; Plus, numerous nieces and nephews.
