Andrew Keaton Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Andrew Irvin Keaton, Sr., age 88, of Fayetteville, passed away August 11, 2025 at Mercy Anderson Hospital. He was born the son of the late Irvin and Hazel Mae Ratliff Keaton on October 22, 1936 in Cincinnati. Andrew was a proud Marine, dedicated truck driver, and steadfast protector. Known for his big heart and larger-than-life stories, Andrew had a gift for making people feel safe, valued, and heard - especially children, who he loved deeply and fiercely. From a young age Andrew had to grow up fast, but he always took time to make sure that the children in his life were valued and loved. A natural athlete, Andrew was honored as Cincinnati Knothole Catcher of the Year for two consecutive years, a testament to his skill and passion. At age 17, Andrew passed on an offer to pursue the Cincinnati Reds to instead join the U.S. Marine's to serve his country. Andrew also had a storyteller's soul. With a twinkle in his eye and an easy smile, he could spin a tale that made you laugh, think, or sometimes both at once. Those who knew him will forever remember his stories, especially his stories of his time in the Marine's of how he was "blowed up twice and shot once!" He brought people together and turned ordinary moments into lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all the children he entertained throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his children, Andrew (Pamela) Keaton, Jr. of Fayetteville, Bruce (Daisy) Keaton of Williamsburg, Elizabeth (Horace) Hovis of Lynchburg, Diana (Steve) Hodge of Bethel, and Philip (Rene) Keaton of Berea, KY; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren plus 1 on the way; and sisters, Bonnie Petterson and Donna Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Audrey Della Loraine Keaton; siblings, Marie Bottenger, George Keaton, Morris Keaton, and Kent Keaton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 5:00pm until time of service at 6:00pm at Davis-Turner Funeral Home, 201 S Broadway St, Lynchburg Ohio 45142. An informal graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10:00am at New Vienna Cemetery.
