Andrew Martin Lapin, age 65, left us on June 10, 2025. Andy was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Chester and Irene (Kisiczke) Lapinski on November 23, 1959. Andy grew up in Detroit, near his two cousins, Michael Morgan and Margaret (Morgan) MacDonald, with whom he was very close.
Growing up in Detroit, Andy was a very active Little League softball player. He enjoyed baseball and other sports until the day he passed. In the footsteps of his father, he also enjoyed exercising and weightlifting.
Andy graduated from North Farmington High School in 1976. He then pursued his Associate Degree at Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
After college, Andy joined his father, Chester Lapinski's, homebuilding company, Lapin Builders, in Canton, Michigan. Upon his father's passing, Andy continued the family business, and there he built over forty homes. He was not just an ordinary builder, but one who was conscientious in his trade and made certain he built quality homes.
"Through wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a good foundation]." Proverbs 24:3
When his much-beloved mother Irene became ill, Andy retired from home-building to take care of her for five years, until her final moments on earth. He truly loved his mother and sacrificed for her. After her passing in October 2015, he enjoyed exercising and meeting with friends in Hines Park in the fresh air and sunshine, to discuss politics.
Andy was a kind, good-spirited, humanistic person. As a quiet and sensitive man, he cared about others. He will be missed.
Andy is survived by his cousins, Mike Morgan and Margaret (Morgan) MacDonald, and will be greatly missed.
His final resting place will be Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
All his arrangements were entrusted to The Fisher Funeral Home of Redford Twp., MI. www.fisherfuneralhome.net
A memorial service will be held on a future date. In place of flowers, donations in Andy's name may be made to, where he was baptized.
