Our sweet Andrew (Andy) J. Lautner took his last breath at the age of 54 on July 23rd in his recent new "penthouse" apartment in Elizabeth, NJ starting his new promotion with his beloved inspiring work family at TransCore & PRTW. He was beside himself with joy over this life transition.
Andrew faced many challenges in his life. He was able to face them all with his family, friends and equally important his extended work family. This is a beautiful note of condolences from his coworkers:
"He never stopped finding the "fun moments" for himself and others. Andrew's love all things Pop Culture- he delighted in sharing that love. Whether using film nicknames for his Work Leads, putting up inspirational Bruce Lee quotes, or offering a quite thoughtful gift he touched so many people. He inspired loyalty and devotion from those who met him. He commanded respect while offering joy. And he will be remembered as the best kind of friend."
Andy was born to Mary & Andrew Lautner in Staten Island on January 29th, 1970 (he was proud to be "straight outta 1970"). He was a graduate of St. Joseph by the Sea High School. His love of all things technical led him to DeVry Technical Institute.
He is survived by his sisters Ann Lautner and Elizabeth (Lautner) Imbro, her husband, Charles, Godmom, Ann Finn, beloved cousins and more fur babies that he doted over. He made sure we all got together with Godmom for the holidays to stay connected. He was looking forward to an upcoming visit to our cousins in Germany and Hungary whom he adored dearly.
Friends and family may pay their respects at Hanley Funeral Home in Staten Island on Friday, August 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9. There will be a mass at 9:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Staten Island on Saturday, August 3rd. A private interment of his cremains will be on Monday, August 5th at Ocean View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Andrew's life by paying it forward. Please take the time to help someone in their everyday struggles. It can make a world of difference. It did for our brother.

Andrew touched so many lives in the very best way. I'm grateful I got the chance to know him as both a colleague and a friend. What an amazing person, and what a remarkable life. I remember him wearing that t-shirt almost every Friday "Free Hugs" just to keep everyone happy.
I am still short of words and still seem like a dream to me. My condolences to the entire family. Andrew may your soul rest in peace.

When we lose our close friend it can leave a gap that is difficult to replace. I´m gonna miss your jokes everyday. You always remembered to ask if we were okay and were always there for us when we needed you. Although I only knew you for 7 years, it feels like a lifetime. I still owe you that cheesecake. Rest in peace, dear friend. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. I never thought this will be our last picture 07/09/2024

My special moment with Andrew was when he gave me his Charlie Brown christmas tree. Andrew laughed and said, " take this so you will keep positive always". Who knew that it will be a gift I will always treasure from my dear friend. Will miss you so much

Andrew was very well liked throughout the time I worked with him, we always joked around and although he was very serious, he always had a fun conversation. You left us before us, Andrew. May you enjoy the presence of our father.

Andrew was my friend. I met him 10 years ago, and had the pleasure of working with him, watching him grow, and become a SME in the tolling industry. Andrew was tenacious in his work ethic, and also how he cared for all of us. We were just getting started, and my friend was ready, but God was ready for him too. He is in a better place, and we are blessed to spend the time we did with him. God Speed my Friend. You made us better.
