Andrew G. "Drew" Luhman, passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was 84. Drew will be missed by many.
Those who knew him will remember Drew for his humility, kindness, and eternal smile. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was an educator in the Spring Lake Heights School District and adjunct professor in the Mathematics Department at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, NJ. Drew had a special love for his Church, St. Rose of Lima Parish in Freehold, the Knights of Columbus Council #1672, St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Rose of Lima Church, and Catholic Daughters Court St Rose of Lima #737.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the New Jersey Education Association, and National Education Association.
He joyfully lived his consecration to God thru his ordination to the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Trenton, May 9, 2009.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Joseph Czarnecki, Harry McCue and Richard Hartman and wife Miriam "Mimi" Luhman.
Surviving are Mimi's twin sister, Margaret Czarnecki; brother-in-law Thomas Hartman; sisters-in-law Sharon Hartman and Maryann Hartman, and daughters Debra C. Luhman of Belmar and Beth Anne Luhman of Tinton Falls.
The viewing will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold on Tuesday, April 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean St., Freehold NJ 07728 or Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 would be appreciated.
Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
