Thomas J. Ring

Thomas J. Ring, 72, of Neptune City, NJ, passed away on November 22, 2025.
Born on March 12, 1953, in Newark, NJ, Tom grew up with a deep love of music and sports, spending countless hours playing basketball at the park, and his natural athletic talent in both basketball and baseball ultimately earned him a spot on the Tusculum College freshman baseball team before a knee injury ended his competitive playing days.
Tom spent more than 20 years working at the American and New York Stock Exchanges before concluding his professional life as a financial advisor. Outside of work, he found immense joy in coaching various Freehold Little League, basketball, and soccer teams, sharing his passion for sports with countless young athletes. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed golfing, history, and the simple moments that made life meaningful.
Tom lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and an unwavering love for his family. A proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Susan; his daughter, Jennifer Murphy (Doug); his son, Christopher (Lindsay); and his cherished grandchildren, Brady, Emily, Maddie, Kailee, and Lyla. He also leaves behind his sister, Jackie, and his brothers, Artie (Leslie), Donald (Linda), and Stephen (Peggy). They, along with many extended family members and friends, will forever hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Emily, his in-laws Donald and Lorraine Barber, and his beloved son, Patrick.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold from 4 to 7 pm. A time of remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Danny Did Foundation (https://www.dannydid.org/give/) in Tom's name.
His love, wisdom, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
