Andrew MacGeorge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Viegut Funeral Home on Aug. 27, 2024.
Andrew Michael MacGeorge was born on May 3, 1986 followed 6 minutes later by his twin brother Chris. Their little sister, Elle, joined them three years later in 1989.
Andrew grew up in the Innis Arden neighborhood in Shoreline, WA where he and his siblings spent many summers competing on the summer swim team and developed a love for the water. In high school, he went on to become a four-year varsity letter winner in swimming, water polo and the marching band at the Shorewood High School. His skill and competitive drive allowed him to play club water polo at the Junior Olympic level and he went on to play for one year at a D3 college in California. He was the epitome of smooth and powerful whether it was swimming, snowboarding, carrying a rhythm in the high school drum line, or swinging a golf club. In everything he put his mind to, he exuded passion and grace.
Post water polo, Andrew went on to graduate from the Police Academy at Red Rocks Community College in Colorado and started his career in law enforcement. His first job was with the Park County Sherriff's Department, where he was able to learn from very influential mentors and made many friends. Most importantly, his beloved dog Ike came into his life who brought so much joy and unconditional love as his constant companion.
Eight years ago, Andrew transferred to the City of Loveland Police Department as a patrol officer and SWAT team member. He went on to become a Firearms Instructor and a Field Training Officer, where he was a respected mentor and trainer for new and aspiring officers. He performed these duties with a calm demeanor, sense of humility and kind-hearted spirit. Loveland provided him a strong sense of community, full of loving and supportive co-workers and lifelong friends.
Whidbey Island was one of Andrew's favorite places to spend his time away from the job. Here he was able to spend many wonderful summers with his immediate and extended families, crabbing, sailing, boating, and spending time in the water. There was nothing better than the smile on his face when he was up at the beach. One of his greatest passions was grilling a hearty steak, seasoned to perfection!
Andrew will always be remembered for his heart of gold and ability to make everyone in the room feel loved and appreciated. His generosity and compassion to all never went unnoticed as he was constantly willing to help others at the drop of a hat. He was a teddy bear of a man, with a kind heart, gentle spirit and witty sense of humor. He will be truly missed by all.
He is survived by his parents, Lisa and Steve MacGeorge, his two siblings Chris and Elle, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
His memorial will take place on August 29th, 2024 at 11am MST at the Foundations Church in Loveland, CO. There will be live stream at www.foundationschurch.org

Officer MacGeorge. I'm not sure if I ever met you. You brought juveniles into the HUB where I work. I heard of your loss and want to pay my respects to your family and thank you for your service in law enforcement. Rest in Peace.

I first met Andrew and Ike at a mutual friend“s home. He was so kind and funny that I loved him immediately. My heart breaks for his family and all that knew and loved him. I am saddened that he is gone from this world far too soon and hope that he has peace in his heart. Love and prayers to his family and friends.
