A celebration in Heaven was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, when Andrew Dale Marris' long, hard fight with liver failure/cancer ended. Andrew was a beloved son, brother, fiancé and friend to many. He was hardworking, intelligent, courageous and strong! Andrew was an inspiration to all who knew him!
Andrew was 31 years old and was born on December 23, 1991, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Carmel High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University in 2018. Most recently, he worked as a Business Intelligence Developer for WalkerHughes Insurance in Indianapolis. Prior to that, he was an IT Project Manager for BlueGreen Vacations in Boca Raton FL. He was a dedicated employee and friend to his colleagues.
Andrew had a strong faith, a love for his country and was proud to be known as a 'Riley Kid'. Andrew loved IndyCar racing and spending the month of May at the track. He had a passion for food; creating new recipes and sharing meals with others. He also enjoyed playing music, exploring history, and cycling. Most of all, Andrew loved spending time with his family, friends, and pets, Tux and Tasha.
Andrew leaves behind his parents, Derrick and Debbie (Gaertner) Marris; his brother, Brian (Kathryn) Marris; his sister, Emily Marris and his fiancée, Ashley Youmell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Beverly Marris, Victor and Helen Gaertner and by his brother, Daniel Marris.
A memorial service for Andrew will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Nelson United Methodist Church, 3333 US Route 20 East, Cazenovia, NY 13035 with interment to follow at Erieville Cemetery.
Following the services at the cemetery, Andrew's family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life for Andrew from 1 to 5 p.m. at Heritage Hill, 3149 Sweet Rd., Jamesville, NY 13078 to continue to share memories and celebrate Andrew's beautiful life.
Memorial contributions in Andrew's name can be made to the Riley Children's Foundation online at rileykids.org or Gleaner's Food Bank of Indiana online at www.gleaners.org. Condolences for the Marris family may be left at www.michaelebrownfuneralservices.com

My first time working with Andrew was a company sponsored food charity event, so I got to know him as a person before he joined our IT team. He was forever telling me to "slow down" and enjoy life. Our first Team Holiday secret santa, Andrew got me a sloth plushy and coffee mug to keep me focused on slowing down to enjoy life. He gave me his friendship and appreciation of life and time with loved ones. My hope for his family and Ashley is that today's grief and pain is quickly replaced with loving memories to fill your lifetime of how wonderful Andrew was and will be forever in your hearts.
