Goldsboro, NC.MSgt Andrew Walton McNeal, USAF, 36, husband of 15 years to Brandi Gordon McNeal, entered into rest on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Travis McNeal and Dr. Paul Noe officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 until 10:45.
A native of North Augusta and a 2007 graduate of North Augusta High School, Drew was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt, particularly turkey, deer, and duck. When he wasn't in the woods or on the water, Drew could be found playing golf, woodworking, or watching whatever Carolina sport was on TV. He had recently started his own clothing brand, Creek Bend Outfitters, which was to be his career following his retirement from the Air Force. MSgt McNeal entered the Air Force in May 2008. Upon graduating from Basic Military Training, he departed to Aircraft Maintenance Technology Course, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, graduating in December 2008. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for 17 years, MSgt McNeal has held various levels of tactical aircraft maintenance tech positions and leadership occupations including Quality Assurance Inspector, Flightline Expeditor, and Production Superintendent. His prior assignments include Nellis AFB, where he served as a dedicated assistant crew chief for the 57th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Kunsan Air Base, Korea, where he served as support technician to the 8th Maintenance Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, England, where he served as dedicated crew chief for the 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and Seymour Johnson AFB where he served as Flightline Expeditor for the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Most recently he served as Production Superintendent for the 334th Fighter Generation Squadron, where he led a team of 252 personnel to maintain the F-15E Strike Eagle. He was deployed three times throughout his career, twice to Al Dhafra Air Base in Dubai and once to Jordan. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air and Space Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the Air and Space Achievement Medal.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Christopher "CJ" McNeal and Ryleigh McNeal; his parents, Gary and Suzanne McNeal; his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Carolyn McNeal; his maternal grandfather, Clyde Holmes; his father- and mother-in-law, Tim "Soley" and Lisa Gordon; his sisters-in-law, Blair Barton (Phillip), and Brittany Gordon (Martin Strauss); his nephew, Parker Barton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ryan Tyler "Biggie" McNeal, and his grandmother, Jeanette Holmes.
Pallbearers will be DJ Anderson, Brandon Snellings, Phillip Barton, Wyatt Wanninger, Evan McNeal, and Martin Strauss.
