Faye Fulmer

North Augusta, SC – Mrs. Faye Fulmer, 80, entered into rest on November 3, 2025. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, November 7th, at 11 o'clock from Sweetwater Baptist Church with Dr. Paul W. Noe officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, November 6th, from 5 until 7 o'clock.
Faye was born December 8, 1944, to the late William Clarence Youngblood and Doris Bell Youngblood. A native of Aiken, SC, she graduated from Aiken High School in 1963. Faye married her husband and together, they have made North Augusta their home since 1975. She was a devoted member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church and extremely proud to serve her community as a first responder in Edgefield County for many years. Faye served as Chief of the Merriwether Fire Department and was an integral part of the fire department's founding. She was always devoting her time to helping others; she was a compassionate nurse, working at University Hospital for over 20 years, and retired from Edgefield County EMS with 10 years of service. Faye loved helping children as a substitute teacher in Edgefield County and even drove the school bus for Aiken County and Edgefield County school districts for a number of years. Faye truly had a servant's heart and always felt connected to her community.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by brothers; George Youngblood, Don Youngblood, James Youngblood, and Dale Youngblood; a grandchild; Carley Peace; and a sister, Shirley Phillips. Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Charles Fulmer, Jr.; a daughter; Sherry Fulmer Rhoades (Neil); a son, Jerry Fulmer; three grandchildren, Christian Horne, Katelynn Fulmer, and Allie Fulmer; one great-grandchild, Ashton Horne; two sisters, Kay Hollinsworth of Pelham, GA and Gail Cochran of Aiken, SC.
Active pallbearers will be Curt Barnes, David Widner, Keith Lephart, Donnie Youngblood, Clyde Gurosik, and Ricky Moxley. Honorary pallbearers will be the first responders of the Merriweather Fire Department and Edgefield County EMS.
