Andrew Murray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes and Lake Memorial Gardens - Osage Beach on Dec. 20, 2025.
Andrew Paul Murray, Jr. ("Drew")
June 27, 1947 – December 18, 2025
Andrew Paul Murray, Jr., known to all who loved him as "Drew," passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life lived to the fullest and deeply cherished.
Drew was, above all else, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy and proudest blessing was his 56-year marriage to the love of his life, Lana. Their bond was unshakable - a true partnership built on loyalty, laughter, shared adventure, and unconditional love. Side by side, they traveled, built businesses, raised a family, and created a lifetime of memories that will live on through all who knew them.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Drew spent his youth forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. He later graduated from School of the Osage, where many of those friendships continued through both life and work. Drew deeply valued his neighbors and friendships, staying connected with people throughout St. Louis and later at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he became a familiar and respected presence in the community. He genuinely enjoyed the relationships he built - whether lifelong friends, fellow business owners, neighbors, or chance acquaintances who quickly became friends.
Known for his strong work ethic and creative mind, Drew built a successful entrepreneurial life in the Lake of the Ozarks community, owning and operating several well-known businesses over more than 50 years. His vision, determination, and willingness to take risks left a lasting impact on the area he proudly called home.
Drew proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Green Beret, a role that reflected his strength, courage, discipline, and sense of duty.
Drew was known for his caring heart, quick wit, and the way he could always make Lana laugh. He was strong, independent, and strong-willed, with confidence that showed in everything he did. He loved to talk, tell stories, and stay busy, and his mind was always working - especially when it came to business and creative ideas. Exceptionally talented, Drew seemed to be good at everything he set his mind to. He could sing, whistle any tune he heard, and had a deep love for music and movies. His natural confidence, drive, and desire to keep moving forward defined the way he lived his life and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was a man who truly cherished his family and his pets. Drew found his greatest happiness in time spent with loved ones and the animals who brought him comfort, companionship, and joy.
Drew found joy in traveling, boating, working on projects, and spending time at the ocean - especially in Folly Beach, South Carolina, and Florida. But his greatest happiness came from time spent with family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lana; his children, Pam Fox (Steve), Cynthia Dominique (Bryan), and Brian Murray (Jackie); and his treasured grandchildren, Laurynn, Kyle, Christian, and Abby, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Paul Sr. and Helen (Bentley) Murray, and his sister, Barbara Menshouse.
Drew's legacy lives through the love he gave, the friendships he cherished, the family he built, and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered always - deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever cherished.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 514 Highway 42, Osage Beach, MO 65065 (573) 348-3232. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
