Charles Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory on Feb. 16, 2026.
Charles Luther Brown, 87, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on February 14, 2026, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.

Charles was born on December 20, 1938, in Syracuse, Missouri, to Lee and Mabel (Wood) Brown. He grew up with strong values of duty, hard work, and devotion to family that guided him throughout his life.

A proud veteran, Charles served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. His years of military service reflected his discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment to those alongside him. Following his military career, Charles dedicated many years to Joe Machens Ford, where he worked from 1981 until his retirement in 2008. He was respected for his strong work ethic and steady presence.

Charles was married to the love of his life, Evelyn (Kauzalich) Brown. Together they built a life centered on family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose legacy lives on in the generations he helped shape.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Brown of Columbia, Missouri; his sons, Charles David Brown and wife Carma, John Michael Brown and wife Stephanie and daughter-in-law Mary K. Brown; numerous grandchildren, Allison, Madison, Charles, Jessica, Hannah, Daphnee, Elizabeth, Kaelyn, Avrey, Faith, and Gracie; and great grandchildren, Sydney, Eloise, Stella, and Rhodes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Brown; and siblings Edward Brown and Sarah Palmer.

Charles will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his commitment to his work, and most of all, his steadfast love for his family. His guidance and example provided a solid foundation that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, February 19, from 5 to 7 pm at Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory. Interment will take place in Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery, Missouri.

The family shares, "We love you Dad. You are forever in our hearts. Your dedication to our mother and family brings inspiration and a solid foundation for generations to come."
