Jacob Murray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory on Feb. 10, 2026.
Jacob Lee Murray, age 18, of Columbia, Missouri, unexpectedly passed away on February 9, 2026. Jacob was born on November 13, 2007, in Kansas City, Missouri, to his parents, Daniel Murray and Tisha Steenrod.

Jacob attended Battle High School in Columbia. He was truly one of a kind, known for his goofy personality, quick humor, and fun loving spirit. He had a deep love for his car, his first and only one, and spent countless hours attending car meets and being involved with Columbia Underground. Jacob also enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, and fireworks, always finding joy in the things that brought excitement and connection.

Jacob was a hard worker and held various jobs over the years, including helping his dad at Wendling Development. Wherever he went, Jacob brought his energy, laughter, and unmistakable presence.

Jacob struggled quietly and tragically lost his life to suicide. He was deeply loved, and his death is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and mental health support.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Haylynn Studdard, and their daughter, Rosalie Murray, who meant everything to him. He is also survived by his parents, Daniel Murray and Tisha Steenrod, his siblings, Michael Murray, Brandon Murray, Thomas Murray, Sarah Murray, Jessica Murray, Emily Murray, and Sammantha Murray, grandparents, Carolyn and Jeff Steenrod.

Jacob was preceded in death by his brothers, Jeffery Murray and Justine Rice, and his grandparents, Leroy Murray and Patricia Murray.

Services will be set for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the GoFundMe established in Jacob's memory to support his loved ones.
