Andrew Vincent Nichols, known affectionately as Andy to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Murrieta, California. Born on April 26, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, Andy's infectious energy and youthful spirit touched all those he encountered throughout his 78 years.
Andy's life was one of dedication, both to his family and his passions. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Carmen Sevilla Nichols, with whom he shared a love that was as playful as it was deep. His legacy also lives on through his brothers, Michael Nichols and Alexander Nichols Jr., and his sister, Mallory Davis, all of whom he cherished deeply.
Andy proudly served his country from 1969-1971 in the United States Army. He was a man of intellect and ambition, Andy was proud of his achievements in education, having earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas that set the foundation for his successful career. As he developed as a young adult, Andy worked in numerous industries. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the respected Owner & Operator of Ink 4 Less & Custom One Auto Body Shop for over 25 years. His professional life was marked by the same integrity and charisma that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Andy's interests were as varied as they were rich. He had an unparalleled love for music, often found strumming his bass guitar or filling a room with his singing and dancing. His love for the outdoors shone through his affinity for gardening, especially his fondness for cactus plants that mirrored his resilience and ability to thrive in any environment. Fishing and boating were among his favorite pastimes, often accompanied by the loyal family Rottweiler, echoing Andy's own loyalty and love for his canine companions. He was a avid pool player and skeet and trap shooter. He was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Known for his generous spirit, Andy was the epitome of a great host, full of energy, always ready to share a laugh or a wise word with friends and family. His humor was as much a part of him as his honesty, and it was this combination that made him a beacon of light in the lives of many. Andy's childlike spirit and innocence remained a hallmark of his marriage, a testament to the love and joy he and Carmen shared.
Those who knew Andy would describe him as wise, loving, and funny-a man who approached life with a zest that was contagious.
