It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected loss of our loved one, Andrew Jay “Drew” Perez, age 21, of Lubbock. Drew passed from this earth on Monday, April 21, 2025, way before his time.
Andrew was born on June 6, 2003, in Snyder, Texas to Crystal Garza and Raymond Perez. He was raised in Lubbock, by his grandmother, Beatrice Marie Garza, who spoiled him and showered him with her love. He attended Coronado High School where he graduated in May 2022.
He brought joy, laughter and kindness to everyone who knew him. His warm spirit made a lasting impression on family, friends and all those fortunate enough to cross his path. He spent most of his time working as a lead man at RT’s Construction where he learned how to frame and be a carpenter. No matter how full his days were, his heart always had room for family! His hobbies were playing basketball with friends, loves going to the shooting range and enjoyed playing video games. He always made time to open his bible. He was a devoted follower of Christ, and he was baptized on September 24, 2023, by Reverend Mario Hernandez.
The memory of Andrew will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and a reminder to cherish every moment.
Andrew is mourned by his loving mother, Crystal, of Brownfield, TX; Tio Anthony of Lubbock, Tia Monica of Levelland, and Tia Mayra of Lubbock; four sisters: Sadie Lanee, Felista Angelic, Angelina Nicole, and Kaylee Brooke, all of Lubbock; five brothers: Tristan Shai of Roswell, NM, Ashton Conner (Maci) of Tyler, Carpio Daniel of Lubbock, Nathaniel Osier and Matthew Jaden of Lubbock; three cousins: Desiray (Ramio, Jr.) Serrato of Levelland, Jazleen Garza and Noah Garza; one niece, Mia Garza of Tyler. He will always be mourned by his boss Robert Torres and his four kids of Lubbock.
