Andrew L. Postell, age 85, of Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life defined by quiet strength and devotion to those he loved. Andrew was born on April 29, 1940, in Oakland, Florida, to the late Willie D. Postell and
Precious Florence Mainess Postell. He grew up in Orlando, attending Jones High School and later Jones Business College. As a young man, he proudly served in the United States Army. Andrew was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and easygoing nature. He spent 30 years at Eastman Kodak, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. After retiring from Kodak, he continued serving his community as a bus driver with First Student for over 15 years, safely transporting generations of children and becoming a familiar and trusted face to many families. Andrew loved sports and the camaraderie it brought. An avid golfer and softball player in his younger years, he was also a devoted Buffalo Bills fan for more than 30 years.
Andrew cherished time with his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by those he loved, especially his grandchildren and great- grandsons, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie D. Postell and Precious Postell, and his siblings Willie D. (Janice) Postell Jr., Alexander Postell, Julia (Ulysses) Baker, Kenneth (Anita) Mainess, Richard (Delia) Postell, Rosa Black, Wilbur (Peggy) Postell, and Bertram (Barbara) Postell.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Claudell Eason Postell; his children, Amelia Butler, Angela Postell, Wanda (Darnell) Postell -Terry, Anthony (Susann) Postell, and Dwayne (Rebecca) Postell; his brother, Herbert (Betty) Postell; and his sister, Bessie Postell. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Nyesha Russell, Ka'Dajah Batie, Irlivia Terry, Aaron (Jiayi) Terry, Brianna (Tashana) Postell, Justin Postell, Aliyah Postell, Marcus Postell, Sydney Postell, Anthony Postell II, and Julia Postell; great-grandchildren Kenton Boateng, Andrew J.
