Born in Wilmington, DE on January 30, 1940, he was a son of the late Andrew P. and Gilda J. Romano. He went on to graduate from the Wharton School of Business. Andy served in the Delaware National Guard while working at the Bank of Delaware (PNC bank) and went on to become Auditor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice Breyer; daughters, Nicole Hammond (Sylvester) and Andrea VanBuskirk (Kevin); son, Matthew Romano (Melissa); grandchildren, Nathaniel Weir (Samantha), Briar, Noah and Bodhi VanBuskirk, Matthew Romano, Evan, Seth and Sofia Hammond; great-grandchildren, Luna and MacArthur Weir; and siblings, Anthony (Madeline) and John Romano.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online by clicking here.

Andy was the best boss. I worked for him at Bank of Delaware for 13 years before I left to pursue my own business after BOD was bought by PNC. They were wonderful formative years, working for Andy. We remained in touch through the years. Such a great family. A beautiful legacy.
