It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew Herman Schenk, who left us on August 20, 2025. Born on April 23, 1985, to Raymond and Marcella (Intlekofer) Schenk and raised in Winnebago, MN, Andrew was a dedicated husband, brother, passionate animal lover, and a friend to all who knew him. Andrew married his soulmate, Tara, on July 13, 2018, in a beautiful, intimate ceremony in Ortonville, MN. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter on their farm, where they shared their lives with a menagerie of animals including goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and a cherished donkey. His love for animals was matched only by his fondness for the great outdoors, especially when it came to fishing and exploring local auctions. In his professional life, Andrew dedicated himself to construction and worked for various companies in the area, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife, Tara Schenk, who will miss him dearly. His sister Tammy (Mike) Montanye, half-sister Sandara Fakler, half-brother Kile Schwardt, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, as well as other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his precious daughter Emily Rose and aunts and uncles.
As we come together to honor his memory, we invite friends and family to join us for a celebration of Andrew’s life Thursday August 28, 2025 from 5-8PM at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago.
