Roger James Runge, age 71 of Amboy, MN passed away at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, MN on Friday, Oct 31, 2025.
Born on July 2, 1954 in Winnebago, MN. Roger was the son of Lester and Darlene (Babcock) Runge. Roger grew up on the family farm outside of Amboy, MN with 6 siblings where he spent his early years farming with his dad and brothers. Following graduation Roger attended culinary school, but his love for farming brought him back home. When Roger returned home, he spent a short period time working at Electrocraft in Winnebago where he met the love of his life, his forever "babe" Kathleen (Kathy) Minkel, and were married on Sept. 6, 1986 in Amboy.
If you couldn't find Roger at the farm, you could find him on a lawn mower somewhere. Roger enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Roger was a people person and enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone. He was a bit of a jokester and was loved by many.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Kathy Runge, siblings Dean (Nancy) Runge, Dale (Terri) Runge, Karen (Randy) Klatt, Deb (Bruce) Griebel, and Ron (Cindy) Runge. Sister-in-law Roberta Stenzel, brother-in-law Greg (Deb) Minkel, and very special friend Karen Anderson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharilyn DeWitz, nephew Mark Runge, father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Emily Minkel, and brother-in-law John Stenzel.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Wed. Nov. 5, 2025 at Spencer Owen Funeral Home, Winnebago, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thurs, Nov. 6, 2025 at Jackson Lake Church in Amboy, with service beginning at 11am. Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy following service.
