Marvin Schenk Obituary

Marvin was born November 22,1937 in Canton, Ohio, the only son of Lewis Schenk and Ida Goren Schenk. Due to his father's vocation, the family moved from Canton when Marvin was 9 years old to Phoenix, Arizona where they resided for four years.
Marvin attended Kenliworth grammar school where he received the nickname of Blackie, which had lasted until his death with childhood friends. From Phoenix, his family moved to Parkesburg, West Virginia. Then to Chattanooga Tennessee where he graduated high school.
After high school, Marvin attended THE Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor's degree and graduated with honors. After college, he attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California where he received his law degree. After law school, Marvin returned to Phoenix, passed the Arizona Bar exam and practiced law for 50 years.
Marvin was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He made it a priority to actively participate in his sons' sports and activities at Madison school and Brophy College Prep.
When he wasn't working or traveling, he showed a passion for playing bridge with his wife. They both became life masters.
He met the love of his life, Kathy Greenwood, while seated at a blackjack table in Las Vegas. They were married in 1969 and remained deeply in love for the rest of their life together.
He lived a very full, happy, and rich life.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his sons Marc and Lee, his daughter in law Allison, his two granddaughters, Sophie and Sydney. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Sinai Cemetery on November 12, 2025 at 10am.

Marvin was a great guy and a great bridge partner. I always enjoyed playing bridge with him. He was a joy at the bridge table. It is really sad that he is gone.
