Donald Chapin Shaw, known as Don to his friends and family, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 88. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 23, 1937, Don's life was marked by his lively spirit, his love for his family, and his dedication to his work and passions.
Don grew up in Phoenix helping his father with his auto repair business, Shaw's Garage. Don's innate ability to fix and build was not only a hobby but also a professional path. He spent many years as a skilled electrician, a career that allowed him to provide for his family and engage with his community.
Don's sense of humor was one of his most memorable traits. He had a knack for making people laugh and could lighten any room with his funny anecdotes and friendly demeanor. His presence was a source of joy for everyone who knew him.
He was a family man through and through. Don's love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marji, who stood by his side in love and partnership for 56 years. Don also leaves behind his devoted son James and daughter-in-law Michelle, and his caring daughter Elysa and son-in-law Jeremy. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Toren, Zander, Kate, and Claire, who will carry forward the lessons and laughter he shared with them. He will be greatly missed.
