Andrew "Andy" Michael Tolnay, 72, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 14, 2012. At Mr. Tolnay's request, he was cremated. A family and friends gathering to celebrate his life will be Friday, November 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel.
Andy was born December 12, 1939 in Affinity, West Virginia, the son of Joseph and Theresa Anderko Tolnay. He married Betty C. Scott on December 23, 1989 in Pottsboro. He was self employed for several years. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Pottsboro; children, Michael Tolnay and his wife, Gretchen of Allen, Texas, Karen Peterson of Plano, Texas, Cynthia Sherman and her husband, Matthew of Greeley, Colorado and their mother, Helen Tolnay of Plano; step-son, Tony Mathes and his wife, Shelley of Harrisburg, North Carolina; sister, Christina Tolnay of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Tolnay and his wife, Audrey of Hillsboro, Texas, Amber Tolnay of Dallas, Texas, Tyler, Kylie and Kelsey Peterson of Plano, Texas; 1 great-grandson, Brandy Jace Tolnay; by a number of nieces and nephews, their families, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and four sisters.
