Ruby Louise (Hicks) Tolnay

Mrs. Ruby Louise Hicks Gammons Tolnay, age 83 of Pinnacle, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Tolnay was born on March 8, 1941, in Stokes County to the late Tom and Nannie Venable Hicks. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving is her husband, Carl Tolnay; son and daughters-in-law, Timothy Gammons; Rebecca “Becky” Gammons; stepdaughter, Joann Tolnay; stepson, Charles Tolnay and Traci; grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott Thomas, T.C. and Lindsay Gammons, Amanda and Dustin Wilmoth, Todd and Ashana Gammons; step grandchildren, Jordan Tolnay, Gunter Tolnay, Riley Tolnay, Lucy Tolnay, Brandon Hardison, Robbie Hardison; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Thomas, Emma Wilmoth, Abagail Wilmoth, Khloe Gammons, Peyton Gammons; sister and brother-in-law; Nancy and Bill McHone; and brother, Jim Hicks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tolnay was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray Gammons; as well as several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Donnie Bowman and Pastor Mark Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
