Rev. Frank Phillip Danley, age 76, of Ararat, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, February 20, 2026. Rev. Danley was born in Surry County, on April 18, 1949, to the late Ernest and Elsie Taylor Danley. He worked many years as owner/operator of Danley floor covering, but most of all he devoted his life to God and preaching the good word. He was a devoted and faithful member of Glorybound Community Church. Left to cherish Rev. Danley’s memories are his daughter, Shelby Scales and David Nelson; grandchildren and their spouses, Raleigh and Maria Scales, Phillip Danley and Penny Lineberry, Savannah and Jody Branch, Kendra and Austin Jenkins, Andrew and Brittany Wall, Natalie Danley, Madison and Jacob Freeman; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rev. Danley was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia Jean Crotts Danley; son, Kevin Phillip Danley, Sr.; sister, Mary Danley Hooker; brothers, James Danley, Junior Danley, Roger Danley, and infant brother. A funeral service for Rev. Danley will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Charles Stevens, Rev. Jack Anderson and Phillip Danley officiating. Burial will follow at New Beginnings Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Danley family.
