Andrew Woodard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sullivan Funeral Home - Marshall on Jan. 19, 2026.
Andrew Edwin Woodard (Andy) was born on September 4, 1963, in Marshall, TX, to the late Edwin and Jeannette Woodard. He passed away at home on January 18, 2026. Andy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jana; his sister Karyn Tipton (Corwyn) and their children; and his nephew Rustyn Quick (Kathryn) and their children, along with many cousins. It is also important to mention Andy and Jana's beloved pets: Coop, Piper, Luke, and Sophie.

Visitation will be held at The Cammack Family - Marshall, on January 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be officiated by Will Sherman on January 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM, followed by graveside services at Algoma North Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rody Best, Ronnie Landry, Craig Johns, Bill Brannon, Stan Brannon, Tony Muse, Scott Kerby, and Rustyn Quick. Honorary pallbearers include Tracey Bagley, Casey Brannon, and Alex Reed.

As a Christian, Andy's goal was to reread the Bible from cover to cover with a deeper understanding before he passed away, which he accomplished. He was always eager to discuss his faith and enjoyed attending Bible study with many of his childhood friends in Marshall.

Andy graduated from Marshall High School in 1982 and later graduated from TSTC in Waco. He worked at SWEPCO for 20 years, during which time he returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from LeTourneau University at the age of 45. He was very proud of achieving his bachelor's degree later in life while working full- time, as was his wife, Jana. In addition to being an electrician, Andy was skilled in welding and could fabricate just about anything out of aluminum. He spent countless late nights in his shop repairing boats and making grills and cookers. He loved building things using both his mind and hands.

Anyone who knew Andy recognized his love for dogs. He was an avid duck hunter who enjoyed watching the dogs work, especially his late dog Rocky and his current dog Coop. His passion for duck hunting and dogs led to some of the best friendships anyone could be blessed with, including those with Rody Best, Ronnie Landry, and Craig Johns to name a few. His hunting friends have always inspired him during his health battles, and they, along with their families, are considered extended family.

Jana would like to thank Andy's sweet friends and family who stayed in touch through phone calls and visits, offering encouragement during his illness. She would also like to express her gratitude to the many doctors who supported him, particularly Dr. Herbert Zeh, III, and his team at UTSW.

Invited Andy on a duck hunt on Caddo Lake many years ago. Only saw a few birds that were out of gun range. We never fired a single shot, but I made a life long friend!

Andy was a amazing aluminum welder extraordinair that saved me and many others on boat repair issues. Those alum. crawfish cookers and grill boxes were something special!

Andy loved God, his wife, black lab Rocky and family members.

His witnessing to me, did more than I´m sure he ever realized.

God Speed Brother!
