Andrew Young

Andrew Young, son of the late Nathaniel and Mary Young, was born April 21, 1960, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Andrew entered the heavenly Father's arms on November 26, 2025.
Andrew married Joyce Corathers Young in September 1987. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2011.
He left Charlotte in 1982 and traveled with his sister and brother-in-law to Fairbanks, AK. He worked at Eielson Air Force Base in the dining facility to help feed the military. Andrew worked as a caretaker and custodian at a senior citizen complex, where he met his best friend and significant other, Debbie Jones, who has been with him for over 18 years and remained by his side through thick and thin.
Andrew was a father, brother, mentor, and coach to many young men.
Preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Young: his mother, Mary Young; his wife, Joyce; his brothers William, James, and Nathan; and his son, Antwan Carrothers.
He leaves behind his daughter, Angie Marie Young. Grandchildren included DaVeion Rashard Young, DreMonte James-King Baldwin, and DaNasia Joyce-Marie Baldwin. His sons, Andrew Carrothers, Arron N. Young, with grandchildren, Reganae Smith and Rawnelle Tremell Young. Son Peter Baldwin.
Daughter-in-law Demetria Veasy, grandsons Timothy P. Veasy, Amani J. Cross, and granddaughter Gabriella G. Veasy.
His siblings are Angela Jones (Eric), Annie DeWitt, Cynthia Funderburk, Richard Young, and Martha Young.
Numerous nephews, nieces, and spiritual children also survive him.
Andrew served in many roles, including father, friend, mentor, coach, and papa, to the many people who encountered his presence, and they loved him dearly.
He was deeply loved and appreciated by many.
