Andrew J. Zeglin, Jr.
September 7, 1939-August 11, 2022
ROCK ISLAND-Andrew J. Zeglin, Jr., 82, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Zeglin will be 10 am, Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, where the services will be live-streamed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made the Glida's Club of the Quad Cities.
Andy was born on September 7, 1939 in Rock Island, a son of Andrew J. Zeglin Sr. and Mary Doloris (Yeager) Zeglin. He married Lynn Bartholomew on May 8, 1959 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2008. Mr. Zeglin was one of the founders and co-owners of Zeglin's T.V. and Appliance. Andy was a member of the Popular Astronomy Club, Coal Valley and the Rock Island Conservation Club. He organized the, Zeglin Family Easter Egg Hunt every year. Andy was an accomplished taxidermist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bicycling, swimming, bowling and the Chicago Cubs. He was an avid Raiders fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Susan Lynne Zeglin, Davenport, Andrew J. Zeglin III, Riverdale, Iowa and Janice (Brett) Casper, Rock Island; grandchildren, Allison, Andrew IV, Mary Doloris, Dean and Spencer; six great grandchildren; siblings, Anita (Stephen) Tady, Rock Island, Marlene (Larry) Lawrence, Rock Island, Jeffery (Nina) Zeglin, Rock Island; sister in law, Dori Zeglin, Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynn; and his brother, Michael Zeglin.

My sincerest condolences in your time of sorrow. Mr. Zeglin was a patron of the 30/31 Branch library in Rock Island and I remember him well coming in to check out books on cd. We missed seeing him.

Sending our deepest sympathy to Andy's family. As kids we always called Andy Jay Bird. My dad Richard Crosby and Andy started working together at Novack's and became lifetime friends. I will always be thankful for Andy stopped by chatting with dad when he seen him sitting on his porch. RIP Jay Bird

The entire Zeglin family has always been special to me, and I am saddened at Andy's passing. I do wish I didn't have conflicting things at the time of the visitation. I remember Andy fondly, and can clearly recall calling on him before he started Zeglin's. This has been a difficult year with both Mike and Andy passing. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
